Name of the Owner: M/s V.S.Lad & Sons

INTRODUCTION

The lease area has been marked in topo sheet No. 57A /12 of Survey of India. The area falls between longitude
76° 33′ 40″ to 76° 35′ 00″ and latitude 15° 03′ 34″ to 15° 04′ 36″ The total area is 105.06 Hectares.

GEOLOGY AND RESERVES: The mining lease area falls in Devadarigudda hill range which is a part of the
Kumaraswamy Range. The area covers the ride / plateau of the and also part of the slope on either side. The run of the
hill range is NW -SSE. The highest elevation is 994 mtrs. The origin of Iron in the area is due to secondary enrichment
of BHQ and ferruginous Phyllites / Meta volcanic rock.

STANDARD (METHOD) OF WORKING

Ore & over burden (rejection) is extracted systematically by forming benches of 6 to 8 meters in height and 20 to 30 meters
in width, slope angle ranges from 75° to 80°. During the course of mining activity the top soil & sub grade mineral all stocked
separately & maintained in proper manner, rejection is dumped systematically at waste dumping yard by forming terracing method
maintaining the height of dump less then 30 meters to avoid water pollution problem & it is protected with proper drainage
system, ( terrace) retaining wall is constructed at the dump yard bottom to protect environmental pollution. Two separate
approach roads have been provided for transportation of material to hill bottom for safety. Main haulage road is maintained
gently sloping towards ore-handling plants which is very economical in whole life of the mine.

DRILLING: Due to soft nature of ore body drilling and blasting operation is not required in ore. In hard BHQ rocks
before commencement of drilling operation, drilling site is thoroughly wetted by water tanker and wet drilling system is adopted.

BLASTING: Slurry explosives are used of 83mm diameters cartridge and blasting is done by using 25 ms cord relay
(delay detonator) to control vibration and good fragmentation before commencement of blasting the area, after charging the drill
holes, water filed polythene bags- spread on blasting the area, after charging the drill hole, water filed polythene bags spread
on blasting area to minimize dust clouds.
