	In India basemetal occurrences are mainly hosted by supra-crustal rocks and granitoids of late-Archaean and early Proterozoic ages. These are confined to Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Sikkim and Orissa.
