The Limestone Deposit is situated to the SE and NE of Racheria Village in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The Govt. of A.P. after receiving approval from Govt. of India have issued the G.O.NO.170 Dated 03.11.1995 ( Industries and Commerce M (III) Dept. Govt. of A.P.) granting Mining Lease over an extent of 1260.33 Acres (510.25 Hectares). The lease was executed on 30.01.1997 and valid upto 29.01.2027.
The Mining lease area aligned NE-SW is bound by Latitudes 15 degree 12 minute 11 second and 15 degree 14 minute 30 second (N) and Longitudes 77 degree 55 minute 45 second and 77 degree 57 minute 30 second (E) in Survey of India, Topo sheet No.57 E/16.
The lease hold forms a part of the Kurnool sub basin in the famous Cuddapah basin which is a unique geology entity, holding a very thick pile of sediments of proterozoic era. The rocks encountered in the subject area belongs mostly to the Narji formation and a little to the Auk (Owk) formation of the Kurnool group in the Cuddapah super, they are detailed below-
